"Union Learning Representatives in Wales have benefitted enormously from the Reading Scheme which was launched earlier this year by Hazel Cushion and Accent Press. Building on the successful collaboration of Wales TUC and Accent Press with a range of partners to distribute “Quick Reads”, the Accent scheme is generating enthusiasm for reading in all kinds of workplaces.

Backed by the initiative, trade unions throughout Wales have established reading-focussed projects, kick-started by Accent’s advice and guidance and the innovative “Book Box”. This new and creative approach to workplace learning is low-cost, easily accessible and has the potential to reach out to workplaces the length and breadth of Wales."
